2011 Winterball is over…Info for the 2012 season will be posted in May 2012
Welcome to the South Huntington Beach Girls Fastpitch Softball information page for the 2011 Winterball Season. The South Huntington Beach softball league serves girls residing in Huntington Beach, Fountain Valley, Costa Mesa and surrounding communities.
The Winterball season is for ages 8U through 14U. The season kicks off with a tournament over Labor Day weekend, followed by weekly games every Saturday through Thanksgiving. 8U teams will play one game each Saturday, while our 10U, 12U and 14U teams play double-headers, or two games, each Saturday. The season closes with a district-wide Thanksgiving Day weekend tournament.
Fields
Home games are player at our SHB fields, located at Edison Community Park at 21377 Magnolia Street in Huntington Beach. Winterball teams travel to games played at local leagues located in Los Alamitos, Garden Grove, Santa Ana, Fountain Valley, Cerritos, and Cypress.
Age Brackets
Recommended age brackets for the Winter 2011 season are as follows:
- Division 14U (14 and under): players born in the years 1997 – 1998
- Division 12U (12 and under): players born in the years 1999 – 2000
- Division 10U (10 and under): players born in the years 2001 – 2002
- Division 8U (8 and under): players born in the years 2003 – 2004
- Girls born in 2005 or earlier are not eligible.
Costs
The cost to sign up is $150 for age 8U, 10U and 12U, and $160 for 14U. This fee covers all games, practices, uniforms and umpire fees for the season. Parents are also required to work two to three shifts in the snack bar during the winter season.
Requirments
A Birth Certificate must be presented at time of registration for age verification if your child has not previously participated at SHB.
Volunteers
We are an all volunteer league and each family must have at least one member volunteer in some capacity. The following positions are available on each team and can be selected on your application form:

IMPORTANT DATES
- Team Practices Begin – August 8th.
- Labor Day Tournament – September 3-5
- Turkey Day Tournament – November 25-27
